How did a sustainable website wecareEarth.com started?
A website born from a love of learning and a deep concern for the environment.
The Spark of an Idea in 2022
It all began in 2022, in the quiet hum of a library during Nepal’s post-pandemic recovery. As a bookworm with a penchant for exploring ideas, I found myself drawn to the world of sustainability. Having experience managing a confession platform, I understood the power of domain names and their impact on a website’s success. This led me to purchase a few domains with future projects in mind.
One day, a wave of nature-related website ideas swept over me. But which domain would perfectly capture the essence of this vision? Inspiration struck – “WeCareEarth.com!” Heart pounding with excitement, I raced home from the library to check the domain’s availability. And there it was – available! Without hesitation, I secured the domain, eager to bring my vision to life.
From Idea to Action (2023)
Owning the domain was just the first step. The world of website creation remained a mystery. Determined to bridge this knowledge gap, I enrolled in a Udemy course in 2023, specifically focusing on building websites with WordPress. I honed my skills by crafting websites for my other domains. Finally, feeling confident and equipped, I turned my full attention to wecareEarth.com in late 2023.
Building a Sustainable Community
wecareEarth.com became my passion project. I started the journey of learning, understanding critical environmental issues like global warming, pollution, the impact of fast fashion and e-waste, and the overarching importance of sustainability. With newfound knowledge, I began publishing regular blog posts, sharing my insights and sparking conversations.
Realizing the value of collaboration, I brought two close friends, Aashika and Prashant, on board. Their dedication to researching topics and gathering information has been instrumental in enriching the content on wecareEarth.com.
